We are seeking a digitally-savvy and editorially sharp Digital Editor / Web Content Creator to assist with the creation, editing, and publishing of engaging content on our website and digital platforms.
This volunteer role is ideal for someone who combines editorial acumen with web publishing expertise and is passionate about connecting audiences to meaningful, employment-focused content.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and curate the Career Indaba website, ensuring timely publishing of news, features, reports, and multimedia.

Edit and format content for web readability, SEO optimization, and brand consistency.

Oversee the website’s content calendar in collaboration with the editorial, radio, and social media teams.

Monitor site performance and implement strategies to improve user experience, page views, and time-on-site.

Upload and maintain digital content (text, images, audio, and video) using a CMS (e.g., WordPress).

Ensure all published content reflects Career Indaba’s mission, tone, and accuracy standards.

Collaborate with the content strategist and social media coordinator to maximize digital impact.
Who Should Apply?

A skilled digital communicator with a year experience in web editing, online publishing, or content management.

Strong editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for structure, clarity, and user engagement.

Experience with CMS platforms (WordPress preferred), SEO, and basic HTML.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, content-rich environment with shifting priorities.
