We are looking for a meticulous and language-savvy Copy Editor to ensure all written content meets our editorial standards for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and tone.

Key Responsibilities

Review and edit articles, features, reports, and multimedia scripts for grammar, style, punctuation, and tone.

Ensure all content aligns with Career Indaba’s editorial voice and house style guidelines.

Collaborate with staff writers, journalists, and section editors to refine and strengthen stories.

Verify facts, names, dates, statistics, and quotes for accuracy and credibility.

Rewrite or restructure content where needed to improve flow, coherence, and readability.

Support final quality checks before publication across platforms (print, web, and digital).

Uphold ethical editorial standards and support inclusive, respectful storytelling.
Who Should Apply?

A skilled editor with at least 2–3 years of experience in copy editing, proofreading, or content writing.

Strong command of English grammar, style, and journalistic standards.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies or errors quickly.

Familiarity with editorial tools (Google Docs, MS Word, content management systems).

Able to work independently while meeting editorial deadlines.
