Key Responsibilities

• Review and edit articles, features, reports, and multimedia scripts for grammar, style, punctuation, and tone.

• Ensure all content aligns with Career Indaba’s editorial voice and house style guidelines.

• Collaborate with staff writers, journalists, and section editors to refine and strengthen stories.

• Verify facts, names, dates, statistics, and quotes for accuracy and credibility.

• Rewrite or restructure content where needed to improve flow, coherence, and readability.

• Support final quality checks before publication across platforms (print, web, and digital).

• Uphold ethical editorial standards and support inclusive, respectful storytelling.

Who Should Apply?

• A skilled editor with at least 2–3 years of experience in copy editing, proofreading, or content writing.

• Strong command of English grammar, style, and journalistic standards.

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies or errors quickly.

• Familiarity with editorial tools (Google Docs, MS Word, content management systems).

• Able to work independently while meeting editorial deadlines.
