Accelerate Your Career as an Estimator

Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to analyze project specifications, develop estimate plans, and ensure the delivery of high-quality estimates that align with contractual requirements. Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes while maintaining strict confidentiality and fostering strong communication across departments

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for producing estimates or part estimates according to the appropriate cost code of accounts as required by contracts or directed by the Chief Estimator or Manager, Project Controls. Ensure technical quality is maintained in all estimates.
  • Collect and maintain historical/statistical data in a format suitable for future estimates.
  • Ensure documentation of estimate methodology and basis for allocated projects is comprehensive and consistent.
  • Develop an Estimate Plan for each capital cost estimate, approved by relevant stakeholders, detailing methodology and expected accuracy levels.
  • Align plans with corporate and contractual procedures and international best practices.
  • Ensure estimates are reviewed by the Project Team and corporate leadership as per delegation of authority before submission.
  • Maintain records of reviews and ensure timely submission of estimates.
  • Compare actual quantities and costs with estimates for projects that have moved into the execution phase to support future quality improvement.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure timely release of information for proposals/estimates.
  • Assist in preparing contract variations and trends when required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of estimates and client information concerning third parties.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • National Diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years working experience in a relevant industry environment.
  • Competent/proficient user of MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Word. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access is desirable

  • Communication Skills: strong verbal and written communication skills to present estimating notes and documentation for reviews.
  • Team Collaboration: ability to work well within a team environment, coordinating with various departments to gather necessary input for estimates.
