Core Responsibilities 

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems, including pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, and grease systems.
  • Conduct routine planned maintenance to ensure optimal operation of machinery and equipment in heavy industry.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues related to chain drives, drive shafts, fans, gearboxes, and conveyor belt systems.
  • Maintain and service electrical motors and overhead cranes, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize maintenance schedules and improve operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Science, and a National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering will be advantageous
  • Trade Tested as a Millwright with 3-5 years of post-trade experience.
  • Proven expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting machinery, including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking and optimizing machine uptime
  • Valid driver’s license.
