Core Responsibilities
- Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
- Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
- Lead and manage the staff in the unit
- Manage the unit’s operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
- Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
- Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
- Manage key stakeholder relations
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Nursing and additionally a Postgraduate qualification in the unit’s specialist area
- 5 years professional nursing experience in a hospital and 3 years leadership experience in a hospital
- Experience in infection prevention and control
- Experience in auditing and accreditation processes
- Must have nursing functional knowledge
Core Competencies
- Able to respond effectively to unexpected situations during surgery
- Ability to make quick, informed decisions, especially in high-pressure situations
- Be aware of team dynamics and individual needs, offering appropriate support
- Find solutions to complex problems with available resources, even under pressure
