Core Responsibilities 

  • Plan and execute scheduled maintenance on MPD plants and equipment, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and report findings with recommendations.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns, assess failures, and execute repairs.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings for plant assembly, design, and commissioning of projects.
  • Perform risk assessments before starting work and supervise subordinates to ensure safety compliance.
  • Maintain high-quality work standards in all maintenance activities while minimizing material wastage.
  • Respond to after-hours equipment or plant failure calls as part of standby duties.
  • Mentor and guide trainees in maintenance best practices.
  • Adhere to all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards and ensure compliance.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade Certificate in a relevant mechanical field with 5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of minerals processing-related unit operations such as flotation, milling, crushing, physical separation, and sample preparation.
  • Familiarity with executing both preventative maintenance inspections and responding to breakdowns, including assessment and repair of equipment.
  • Understanding of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) requirements and other relevant industry regulations to ensure compliance during maintenance activities.
  • Experience in overseeing maintenance teams or mentoring trainees, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards

Core Competencies 

  • Strong understanding of plant and equipment maintenance in minerals processing.
  • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings and equipment design (PFDs, P&IDs, and structural).
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical theories for diagnosing equipment issues.
  • Ability to plan and execute both preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Effective communication and report-writing skills for documenting maintenance work.
