As an Oncologist you will specialize will diagnose, treat, and manage care for patients with various types of cancer. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care and improve patients’ quality of life.

Core Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and perform necessary diagnostic tests to identify cancer types and stages
Develop and recommend individualized treatment plans, which may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapies
Monitor patient progress throughout treatment, managing side effects and complications
Participate in clinical trials and research to advance cancer treatments and contribute to the medical community

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Medical degree followed by Completion of a residency in internal medicine followed by a fellowship in oncology
Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
Comprehensive understanding of cancer treatment modalities and patient management

Core Competitiveness

Ability to effectively communicate complex medical information to patients and their families
Proficient in interpreting diagnostic tests and assessing treatment efficacy
Commitment to ethical standards in patient care and research practices
