Core Responsibilities
- Fabricate and build boilers, tanks, and vats from blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings.
- Assemble prefabricated parts using welding, bolting, or riveting.
- Install boilers and large vessels in facilities such as power plants, factories, and ships.
- Maintain, repair and inspect boilers, tanks, and other equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to safety and compliance regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure workplace safety.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 or equivalent, N6 or equivalent Boiler/ Plater/Welder Qualification and completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in mechanical work.
- Qualified Trade Test Boiler Certificate.
- 3-5 years’ experience as a dedicated Boiler Artisan.
- Relevant certifications in welding, safety, and possibly specific boiler systems.
- Computer literacy – MS Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license.
Core Competencies
- Technical knowledge: understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and the principles of boiler construction.
- Welding skills: proficiency in welding techniques such as arc welding, MIG, and TIG.
- Mechanical aptitude: strong mechanical skills to work with various tools and machinery.
- Attention to detail: precision in cutting, fitting, and assembling parts.
- Physical fitness: ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in confined spaces.
