Core Responsibilities 

• Fabricate and build boilers, tanks, and vats from blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings.
• Assemble prefabricated parts using welding, bolting, or riveting.
• Install boilers and large vessels in facilities such as power plants, factories, and ships.
• Maintain, repair and inspect boilers, tanks, and other equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to safety and compliance regulations and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure workplace safety.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 or equivalent, N6 or equivalent Boiler/ Plater/Welder  Qualification and completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in mechanical work.
• Qualified Trade Test Boiler Certificate.
• 3-5 years’ experience as a dedicated Boiler Artisan.
• Relevant certifications in welding, safety, and possibly specific boiler systems.
• Computer literacy – MS Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license.

Core Competencies 

• Technical knowledge: understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and the principles of boiler construction.
• Welding skills: proficiency in welding techniques such as arc welding, MIG, and TIG.
• Mechanical aptitude: strong mechanical skills to work with various tools and machinery.
• Attention to detail: precision in cutting, fitting, and assembling parts.
• Physical fitness: ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in confined spaces.
