Accelerate Your Career as an Avionics Technician

Perform essential avionics maintenance on B737-400/800 aircraft, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing avionics systems. You’ll work across various stages of aircraft maintenance, from pre-flight inspections to complex fault rectifications, ensuring the highest safety and operational standards. Collaborate with a dedicated team of aviation professionals while applying your expertise in avionics systems to maintain airworthiness and compliance with SACAA regulations.

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Perform line maintenance inspections on aircraft avionics systems.
  • Ensure quality control in pre-flight, post-flight, and transit inspections for avionics components.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine inspections and maintenance on avionics systems to maintain safety and operational standards.
  • Diagnose faults in avionics systems, perform troubleshooting, and rectify issues as necessary.
  • Conduct daily inspections of aircraft avionics systems to identify potential problems or defects.
  • Use avionics diagnostic tools to ensure all systems meet airworthiness and operational safety standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are properly recorded and signed off according to SACAA regulations.
  • Assist with in-loco verification exercises on-site, where necessary.
  • Adhere to established maintenance procedures and comply with safety and health regulations.
  • Maintain avionics equipment, tools, and work areas in line with health and safety protocols.
  • Apply analytical thinking to identify and resolve complex technical issues in avionics systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks and effective communication of technical details.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent and 8-10 years’ experience in aviation, with a focus on avionics systems.
  • Licensed Avionics Technician with a SACAA certification (W1, W2, W3 license) on B737-400/800 (Essential).
  • Experience working on B737-400 and B737-800 aircraft.
  • Line and Scheduled Maintenance (SVM) experience.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Ability to travel locally and internationally on short notice.
  • Valid South African passport.
  • Proficiency in technical aircraft documentation and SACAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of avionics schematic systems and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with Compass Swing (Advantageous).
