Core Responsibilities 

  • Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles.
  • Perform repairs on engines, brakes, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Communicate with customers to explain issues, provide repair estimates, and offer maintenance advice.
  • Test vehicles to ensure repairs are successful and systems function correctly.
  • Keep detailed records of repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Keep up-to-date with advancements in automotive technology and repair techniques.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 or equivalent, N6 in Mechanical Engineering qualification and completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in Mechanical work.
  • Qualified Trade Test in Automotive/Mechanical.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as an Automotive Technician.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems and mechanical processes.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues.
  • Understanding of automotive technology, including computerized systems.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various positions.
  • Computer literacy – MS Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license.
