About the role

Are you a strategic leader passionate about promoting a culture of safety, health, environment, risk, and quality (SHERQ) excellence? We are seeking a dedicated SHERQ Manager to join the team and ensure compliance, safety, and quality across all operations. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact in a dynamic environment while enhancing your career in SHERQ management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain SHERQ policies and procedures in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and site inspections to identify potential hazards and assess risks, implementing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, analyze root causes, and establish action plans to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on SHERQ protocols, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with management to drive SHERQ improvement initiatives, campaigns, and projects that promote a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Track and report on key SHERQ performance indicators, presenting findings and improvement recommendations to senior management.
  • Act as the SHERQ representative in liaising with regulatory bodies, customers, and stakeholders, ensuring compliance and effective communication.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory updates to maintain and improve SHERQ standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in SHERQ management, ideally within the chemicals or packaging industry.
  • Strong understanding of relevant safety and quality regulations and standards.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing SHERQ-focused teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to assess and address SHERQ-related challenges.
  •  Proficient in MS Office and SHERQ management software.
