About the role

Are you passionate about drone technology, agriculture, and providing exceptional technical support? As a Technical Drone Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the commercial agricultural drone market by leading service, repair, and training initiatives. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on expertise in drone operations, technical support, and a passion for innovation in agriculture.

Core Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee the drone service and repair strategy in Gauteng, providing technical assistance to agricultural drone customers and contractors.
• Develop and maintain service and support documentation, including warranty processes, to ensure high-quality post-sale service for third-party authorized providers.
• Manage and nurture technical relationships with business partners, providing training and ensuring they have necessary parts and resources for excellent service delivery.
• Conduct demonstration days, classroom and field training sessions, and ongoing support as a licensed Remote Pilot (RPL).
• Become an expert on XAG Product offerings, highlighting key benefits and providing technical expertise to close sales deals with potential customers.
• Travel locally and internationally (up to 50% of the time) to provide hands-on support, training, and consultation

Minimum qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Mechatronics, or a related field with a strong focus on drones, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in technical support or a related service role.
• Certified Remote Pilot License (RPL – VLOS) with proven flight experience.
• Experience in customer technical training, including classroom and field settings, with confident presentation skills.
• Strong passion for the commercial agricultural drone market and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Technical expertise paired with strong interpersonal skills and sales acumen.

Technical Skills

• xpertise in drone technology, including service, repair, and operations.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining service documentation.
• Hands-on experience with agricultural drone systems, particularly the XAG product range (preferred).
• Strong communication and presentation skills for customer training.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide practical solutions
