Why a Career as a Production Pharmacist?

A Production Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process of pharmaceutical products, ensure that production activities comply with regulatory standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company policies.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Oversee daily pharmaceutical production operations, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor the production process to ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate preparation and dispensing of raw materials.
  • Liaise with the Quality Assurance (QA) department to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production cycle.
  • Optimize processes and identify gaps in policies/ procedures
  • Drive CAPA investigations in area of focus

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, with 1-3 years of experience in the Pharmacy industry.
  • Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and South African pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Ability to interpret and implement policies, processes, and objectives.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Proficiency in documentation and report writing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
