About the role
Are you an experienced Production Manager with a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes, driving team performance, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality? We are seeking a dedicated Production Manager to join our client’s dynamic team in Benoni within the FMCG chemical manufacturing sector. This role provides an opportunity to make a significant impact on manufacturing efficiency, quality, and team performance within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and contribute to operating plans to optimize production outcomes.
- Manage, lead, and supervise production staff, assigning tasks, providing training, and ensuring performance aligns with productivity and quality targets.
- Communicate production goals, set priorities, and deliver performance metrics to maintain accountability and alignment across the team.
- Ensure production targets are met through efficient planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, including logs, inventory records, and quality documentation.
- Enforce compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies to uphold quality and safety standards.
- Implement quality control procedures, ensuring adherence to product specifications, and conducting audits to identify improvement areas.
- Enhance operational efficiencies by streamlining processes, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and addressing process deviations to minimize downtime.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Production Manager in chemical manufacturing.
- At least 4 years of experience in People Management.
- Proven experience in implementing safety standards and handling hazardous chemicals.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of technology systems and processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of compliance legislation and regulations.
