Why a Career Transition as a Pharmacovigilance Scientist?
Pharmacovigilance Scientists play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and preventing adverse effects or any other drug-related problems. They work to ensure the safety of medications and other pharmaceutical products.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage Pharmacovigilance activities for new product launches and existing portfolio in South Africa and SADC region.
- Lead and oversee aggregate safety reporting and signal detection activities.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Pharmacovigilance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal SOPs.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Authorities and Contractual Partners on safety-related issues and submissions.
- Lead and mentor Pharmacovigilance team members, ensuring high-quality deliverables and compliance with PV standards.
- Develop and implement Risk Management Plans and oversee safety communication activities.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (BPharm) in Pharmacology, Toxicology, or a related field. with 4-6 years’ related work experience.
- Relevant certifications.
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing experience.
- Strong background in pharmacology, toxicology, or related fields.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines for drug safety.

- Attention to detail: high level of accuracy in reporting and analyzing data.
- Communication skills: ability to clearly communicate findings and recommendations.
