As a Pediatrician you will provide specialized medical care to children from infancy through adolescence, focusing on their physical, emotional, and developmental well-being. This role requires a deep commitment to children’s health, an understanding of the unique medical needs of young patients, and a dedication to supporting their families.
Core Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of illnesses, infections, injuries, and other health conditions in children
- Conduct routine well-child exams, immunizations, and health screenings to ensure healthy growth and development
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for chronic or acute pediatric conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, and infections
- Educate and guide parents on childhood health topics, including nutrition, safety, and developmental milestones
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, nurses, and social workers to provide holistic care
- Stay current on pediatric healthcare advancements and adopt best practices for patient safety and treatment
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- MBChB degree with 3-5 years of post-registration experience in pediatric healthcare
- Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a specialist in Pediatrics
- Advanced training or certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support is advantageous
- Expertise in both preventive and acute care for children

- Ability to make quick decisions under pressure, particularly in emergency cases.
