Why a Career as a Medical Writer?

As a medical writer you will be responsible for researching and developing technical medical content, ensuring all outputs meet the written brief. You will be required to liaise with clients and medical experts on content development and attend scientific and client meetings where output is required.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Develop Medical Content curating accurate and high-quality scientific documents.
  • Conduct in-depth research to ensure the content is scientifically sound, up-to-date, and relevant to the target audience.
  • Ensure all written materials comply with local and international regulatory standards.
  • Proofread and edit documents for consistency, accuracy, and clarity, following specific style guides (e.g., AMA Manual of Style).
  • Write clinical trial protocols, investigator brochures, and regulatory documents to support drug approval processes or medical device registration.
  • Participate in client meetings, scientific discussions, and regulatory briefings to ensure alignment on content and project goals.
  • Develop manuscripts, abstracts, and posters for publication in peer-reviewed journals or for presentation at scientific conferences.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Advanced Biomedical Degree, with 3-5 years of experience in medical writing or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent and versatile scientific writing and editing ability.
  • Ability to generate materials to a high standard and quality, with minimal internal review/assistance.
  • Excellent project-management and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical and health-related issues.
