  • Operate manual lathe machines to manufacture components according to mechanical manufacturing drawings and specifications.
  • Plan jobs effectively and manage tasks to meet project deadlines and ensure accurate production.
  • Maintain quality control by adhering to specified tolerances and ensuring high precision in all machined parts.
  • Handle raw materials and manage their preparation for machining.
  • Ensure the manual lathe is regularly maintained for optimal operation and performance.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to meet production requirements and solve any machining-related issues.
  • Accurately read, interpret, and execute tasks based on mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Maintain safety standards and follow workshop protocols.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 or Equivalent with a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Qualified Artisan (Tool Maker/Turner Machinist).
  • 2-5 years post-qualification experience in the machining/tool making environment.
  • Previous experience in handling raw materials and working on manual lathe machines.
  • Job planning and execution experience.
  • Code 8 Driver’s License (required)
