As a Locum Pharmacist you will be responsible for dispensing medications, offering healthcare advice, and ensuring that all pharmaceutical services comply with legal and ethical standards in South Africa.

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications and ensure that all dispensing procedures comply with the Pharmacy act
  • Provide patients with professional advice on the proper use of their medications, potential side effects, drug interactions, and dosage instructions
  • Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock control, and assist with the ordering of pharmaceutical supplies as necessary
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper documentation of all dispensing activities

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy with 3 years experience in a hospital pharmacy Stock Management and distribution
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a practicing pharmacist.
  • Must have knowledge of the pharmacy and related healthcare industry
  • Have ethical and surgical product knowledge
  • Have Knowledge and experience working with relevant pharmacy systems

 

Core Competencies 

  • Strong knowledge of medications, drug interactions, and pharmaceutical laws in South Africa.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to different pharmacy environments.
