Minimum Qualifications & Competencies

• Bachelor Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in food technology can enhance career prospects
• Professional Certifications and Licenses.
• Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and processing techniques, proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment, and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail, creativity, ability to work in a team, and a passion for food science and technology.
• Relevant internships or project work demonstrating practical application.
• Must be a citizen in the country and city of hire and be under the age of 34 years.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and develop new food products or improve existing ones. Work on formulating recipes, testing prototypes, and ensuring products meet nutritional and quality standards.
• Oversee and optimize food processing techniques, including cooking, drying, freezing, and packaging, to enhance product quality and shelf life.
• Monitor and maintain food quality and safety through testing, inspections, and adherence to industry standards and regulations. Address any quality issues or non-compliance.
• Implement and enforce food safety practices, including hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP), to ensure that food products are safe for consumption.
• Ensure that food products comply with local, national, and international food regulations and standards. Prepare documentation for regulatory approvals and audits.
• Conduct research on new ingredients, technologies, and food processing methods to drive innovation and stay competitive in the food industry.
• Analyze market trends and consumer preferences to develop products that meet customer demands and align with industry trends.
• Work on sustainable practices in food production, including reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and sourcing ingredients responsibly.
