Minimum Qualifications & Competencies

  • Bachelor Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.) can enhance career opportunities and specialization
  • Professional Certifications and Licenses.
  • Strong knowledge of food chemistry, microbiology, and processing techniques, proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment, and good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail, creativity, ability to work in a team, and a passion for food science and innovation.
  • Relevant internships or project work demonstrating practical application.
  • Must be a citizen in the country and city of hire and be under the age of 34 years.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and develop new food products or enhance existing ones by formulating recipes, testing ingredients, and analyzing nutritional content.
  • Implement and monitor food safety protocols to ensure that food products are safe for consumption. Conduct microbial and chemical testing to identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure that food products meet quality standards by performing routine tests, inspections, and analyses. Address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Evaluate the nutritional content of food products and ensure that they meet dietary guidelines and labeling requirements.
  • Conduct research on food ingredients, processing methods, and preservation techniques to drive innovation and improve food products.
  • Ensure that food products comply with local, national, and international food safety regulations and standards. Prepare documentation for regulatory submissions and audits.
  • Analyze sensory attributes of food products, such as taste, texture, and aroma, to ensure that they meet consumer preferences and expectations.
  • Work on sustainable food practices, including reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and sourcing ingredients responsibly.
