Why a Career Transition as a Epidemiologist?

As a epidemiologist you will be responsible for contributing to the epidemiology agenda for surveillance and research the Centre for Emerging Zoonotic and Parasitic Diseases with a focus on emerging zoonotic and vector borne and epidemic-prone diseases.

 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Assist with data collection, cleaning, database development, curation, and analysis for small and large datasets, particularly related to NMC.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of epidemiologic studies and surveillance programs relevant to the Centre’s activities, including study design, data collection, data entry, management, cleaning, analysis, and report writing.
  • Participate in epidemiological investigations of outbreaks as needed.
  • Write grant proposals and manage grant budgets as required.
  • Analyze data from surveillance programs and epidemiologic investigations.
  • Assist with training and capacity-building efforts.
  • Develop reports and contribute to publications.

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Masters degree in Epidemiology or Public Health, with post qualification experience in research, surveillance and clinical trials.
  • Must be Experience in applied epidemiology, public health and communicable diseases essential
  • Be able to produce reports and scientific publications Ability to manage a team and generate new projects.

  • Possess strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, enabling them to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with others.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively under pressure, maintaining composure and focus in challenging situations.
