As a Dietician you will assesses, diagnoses, and treat nutritional problems in various settings. Further develop personalized nutrition care plans, conduct nutritional screenings and assessments, and monitor patient progress. Working in both clinical and community settings, they provide medical nutrition therapy for conditions such as diabetes, obesity, eating disorders, and malnutrition.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments
  • Develop and implement individualized meal plans
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams
  • Manage enteral and parenteral nutrition
  • Document patient care and maintain records
  • Develop educational materials
  • Participate in research projects
  • Supervise food service operations in hospital settings

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics
  • Completed community service year
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) compliance

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Empathy and compassion for patients dealing with serious or chronic health conditions.
