This is your opportunity to play a critical role in the generation and management of solar energy at a Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) Plant.As a CSP Engineer, you will work collaboratively to develop efficient solar energy solutions that maximize performance and sustainability. You’ll be responsible for overseeing plant operations, conducting system performance analyses, and specifying components for optimal energy generation. Your role will involve close collaboration with senior engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and contributing to the overall success of renewable energy projects. Utilize your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to drive efficiency while supporting maintenance processes and ensuring high-quality standards in solar power generation.

Core Responsibilities

• Control, operate, and monitor the solar field to optimize energy harnessing and system efficiency
• Manage and oversee the power block, including heat exchange and turbine operations, ensuring consistent power generation
• Operate and monitor the Steam Generation System (SGS), Thermal Storage System (TSS), and turbine system for safe and efficient operations
• Control processes to generate and supply electricity to the national grid while maintaining adequate supplies for safe unit operation
• Identify and troubleshoot system faults, ensuring timely resolutions to minimize downtime
• Maintain accurate operational logs and collaborate with maintenance teams for regular equipment checks

Minimum qualifications and Experience

• National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering
• Industry certifications in CSP Plant Operations or related fields
• 3–5 years of experience in renewable energy or power plant operations, including CSP systems
• Technical knowledge of solar field, power block, and turbine systems
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements for power generation and supply

Technical Skills

• Expertise in solar power plant processes and control systems
• Proficiency in operating thermal storage and turbine systems
• Analytical skills for troubleshooting and optimizing plant performance
• Knowledge of electricity supply processes and integration with national grids
