Why a Career as a Clinical Research Associate?
As a Cardiac Electrophysiologist you will be responsible diagnosing and treating arrhythmias and other heart rhythm disorders, with experience in catheter ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, and the management of complex cardiac rhythm cases. This role will involve collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, surgeons, and healthcare providers to deliver top-tier cardiac care.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients with arrhythmias and other cardiac rhythm disorders
- Conduct procedures including, but not limited to, catheter ablations, pacemaker and defibrillator implantations, and other advanced electrophysiological interventions
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for patients, focusing on risk reduction and quality of life improvements
- Collaborate with a team of cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and allied healthcare professionals to provide integrated care
- Stay current with advancements in electrophysiology and contribute to research, education, and continuous improvement initiatives within the department
- Participate in on-call rotation for electrophysiology and general cardiology services
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- MBChB with 3 years experience in cardiac electrophysiology post-fellowship
- Completion of an accredited fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology
- Board certification in Cardiology and Electrophysiology
- Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
- Advanced understanding of cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmia treatment
