Join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering innovative engineering solutions by designing and detailing specialized mechanical applications. As a Mechanical Designer, you will work collaboratively to develop effective design solutions that meet customer specifications. You’ll be responsible for creating detailed designs, conducting design calculations, and specifying components for procurement. Your role will involve close collaboration with senior design engineers, ensuring compliance with ISO procedures and contributing to the overall success of projects. Utilize your technical expertise and creativity to bring concepts to life, while supporting assembly processes and ensuring high-quality standards in mechanical design.

Core Responsibilities 

• Contribute to a highly innovative and efficient R&D computational biology program by developing novel algorithms for analyzing diverse data sets.
• Serve as a key contributor to a well-engineered and documented code base, ensuring robustness, automation, and repeatability of the code produced.
• Collaborate in strategizing efficient data analysis methods to maximize insights from both new and historical datasets.
• Identify and implement opportunities for internal process improvement to enhance overall efficiency and productivity.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Undergraduate degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 2-5 years of experience in the field
•  Demonstrated foundation in quantitative data analysis and problem-solving skills. Advanced software engineering experience is required, particularly in Python programming.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and software, such as Bioconductor, Galaxy, or similar platforms.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary projects involving computational biology, genetics, or genomics.
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and experience in managing large biological datasets.

Core Competencies 

• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with source control using Git.
• Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on teamwork.
• Excellent organizational capabilities and outstanding attention to detail.
• Familiarity with at least one statically typed language (e.g., C++, Java, Rust).
