As an Optometrist you will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose visual impairments, and prescribe corrective lenses or other treatments to enhance and protect patients’ vision. You must be a qualified and patient-focused Optometrist to provide exceptional eye care services to our clients.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision tests
  • Diagnose and manage various eye conditions and visual disorders
  • Prescribe and dispense corrective lenses (spectacles and contact lenses)
  • Screen for eye diseases such as glaucoma and cataracts
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgery
  • Manage referrals to ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Provide patient education regarding eye health and vision care
  • Stay current with latest developments in optometry through continuing education

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Optometry with 2 years clinical experience preferred
  • Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
  • Valid professional indemnity insurance
