Accelerate Your Career as a Plant Chemist

Drive operational excellence by conducting laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and interpreting results to optimize plant performance and maintain environmental compliance. Play a role in ensuring chemical processes meet safety and quality standards, while supporting the operations team in enhancing efficiency and sustainability in power and water desalination plants.

Core Responsibilities 

• Receive, check, and register samples for lab analysis, ensuring accurate and timely test results.
• Prepare reports and maintain compliance with planned schedules to meet end-user requirements.
• Interpret test results to help establish operational parameters for optimizing plant efficiency and maintaining long-term operational integrity.
• Provide process-related support to the operations team to enhance plant performance and quality standards.
• Ensure the calibration and maintenance of lab instruments according to IMS requirements.
• Investigate operational issues, recommend solutions, and maintain an adequate stock of chemicals and laboratory supplies to ensure continuous lab services.
•  Support internal/external Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental audits and implement corrective actions.
• Stay updated on regulatory requirements related to environmental compliance, chemical handling, and plant operation procedures.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of laboratory experience in a power or water desalination plant.
• Proven experience in chemical and physical analysis in plant environments.

Core Competencies 

• Technical Expertise: in-depth knowledge of plant chemistry, chemical handling, and environmental regulations, with a focus on power and water desalination.
• Regulatory Knowledge: understanding of environmental compliance, health and safety standards, and the impact of chemicals used in the plant.
• Problem-Solving & Analysis: strong data collection, analysis, and problem-solving skills to support process control and improve operational efficiency.
